What's in Season Now

HUGE DISCLAIMER:  As much as I would be thrilled to provide lists of seasonal products for all four corners of the earth, I think it would be near impossible, given the wide array of comestible items that pop out of the ground, from mangoes and papaya in Brazil to dates and figs in the United Arab Emirates.  What I can provide below is a rough list of available products in much of Europe and North America; if they are not available in your immediate area, they are likely being produced somewhere not so far from your home town.

Since I know that you are interested in what is in season just because you are reading this, I hope you will do some research either on the internet or by visiting local producers, to determine what is available and in season near you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and happy cooking!

What's in Season Now

We're almost there, spring is around the corner and I can feel it as much in the slowly-turning weather as in the slight changes in available produce at the farmer's markets.  Counting down the days until I see strawberries, blueberries, and gorgeous vine-ripened tomatoes for sale!

(Foods in season of course varies from location to location - I'm hoping to provide you with a general idea.  If you'd like to know exactly what produce is locally produced near you, I suggest you contact local farmers markets.  A good list of such markets in the US can be found here; UK, here).
